Born 2 January 1985, in Gibraltar, Justin picked up the guitar aged 14 and spent the rest of his teens immersing himself in the instrument. Justin further developed himself as a guitarist jamming with his close friends and taking guitar lessons.

At the age of 17, Justin joined a newly formed band, Ellipse, made up of former band members from Wasted, Soul Within and Undecided. In a very short space of time Ellipse became a successful and well known local act, taking over the residency at Sax II from Glow and regularly filling the club on Friday and Saturday nights. Following a farewell gig at Sax II, Ellipse disbanded.

Justin has since been involved in projects such as Voodoo Monkey, a hard rock band that played regularly in Gibraltar and Spain, playing a mix of original music and cover songs and releasing a full length album “The World”.

Justin has since collaborated on an electronic music project, Circle Machine, which mixed electronic music and guitars. Justin most recently played in local cover band Panic Station.

Following a successful Ellipse reunion during the course of 2021 a decision was made by the remaining original members to close that chapter and to explore writing original music for the first time, birthing Kounterfeit Kings. 

About the Kounterfeit Kings Justin had to say: “The backbone of this project is a collection of songs I feel represent who I am as a guitarist and songwriter. These are songs I love to listen to and would want to hear played live.”
